Waingels PTA
Save The Date!
We are delighted to announce a brand new Waingels community event coming this autumn – the Waingels Woodley Run Fest, organised in partnership with Barnes Fitness and the Waingels PTA, taking place on Sunday 27th September
Event Overview This will be a professionally run, chip-timed race, starting and finishing at Waingels and following a scenic route through Ashenbury Park. The event will include:
• 10K race (16+)
• 5K race (13+)
• 2K kids’ race
You don’t have to be a serious runner – this event is designed for all abilities, and it’s about taking part, having fun and supporting Waingels. The event will help raise money for the school and show Waingels at its very best to the wider community!
How families can get involved
We would love families to take part by: • Running or walking in one of the races • Supporting children in the 2K race • Volunteering on the day (e.g. marshalling, helping with food and drink stands, or general support)
Further details, including entry information and volunteer sign-ups, will be shared shortly. For now, please save the date and consider how your family might like to be involved.
How can your business help?
We are asking local businesses if they would like to sponsor the event in any way. There will be a huge reach of families and the wider community that we are targeting. We will be contacting all of the Primary schools with a view to enter the 2k childrens race (hoping to create some school rivalry!) and have contacts in the local Park Run community. Barnes Fitness who are designing the course will advertise on their web page and socials too - they have a reach beyond Woodley.
We would be able to put your logo on our main poster and promotional materials to the primary schools/social media/newsletters that go out to Woodley Families. We could also have a prominent space for your banner at the event, or if you wanted to attend to do any face to face marketing.
It would be a great opportunity to raise your profile within the local community and supporting Waingels.
Hopefully if the first event goes well, we would like this to be an annual event!
